About Us

At Pekarsky Stein we are heavily involved in all facets of our community.  We believe strongly in volunteerism and philanthropy.  Whether it's coaching U-12 girls soccer or grassroots hockey on Calgary's outdoor rinks; Volunteering on School Council or sitting on the Board of Hospice Calgary or Tourism Calgary; Speaking at local high schools and to various networking groups or sponsoring the annual Managing Partner's Dinner in Vancouver, we believe in giving back.

We recently sponsored the Canadian Women's Foundation 2012 Calgary Annual Breakfast by hosting several of our clients at the Pekarsky Stein table purchased in support of this worthy cause. We are proud to have done our part to help raise more than $500,000 to help women on their journey out of poverty. Funds raised go toward life-changing programs that help low-income women out of poverty and toward financial security. This year, the event featured Shelagh Rogers, a veteran broadcast journalist and CBC host. Together with our clients, our firm is proud to support this organization's ground breaking national movement to change the face of poverty in Canada. Over the weekend of April 13th, 2012 the Pekarsky Stein Pro Bonos participated in the Gordie Howe "Stick It To Alzheimer's" hockey tournament. Our rag tag team of friends, clients and colleagues raised nearly $95,000 for the cause. This was the third highest fund-raising total among the 24 teams entered and with our third overall pick at the NHL alumni draft we selected six time Stanley Cup winner, Bryan Trottier to be our teammate for the weekend. Bryan was gracious, generous and a total treat to have as a teammate. In addition to being a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, Bryan is now an lifetime honourary member of the Pekarsky Stein Pro Bonos hockey club.

We are a Gold Level sponsor at the annual Candy Cane Gala in support of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation.

In 2011, we sponsored a hockey team, The Pekarsky Stein Pro Bonos, in the inaugural Gordie Howe "Stick It To Alzheimer's" hockey tournament raising nearly $50,000 for the cause. We have re-upped our commitment in 2012 and set a much loftier fundraising goal.

Along the way we have participated in the YWCA Walk-A-Mile In Her Shoes, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk, and The Country 105/Q107 Caring For Kids Radiothon, to name a few.
